Ok, I'm back.

I don't have a ton of new pictures due to lack of time recently, but heres a few more that I took from my trip to Pawnee Buttes in northern Colorado a few months back..

Mental Vacancy

Due to a few issues back in the real world, I've taken a few weeks off, and will probably continue to be absent for another week or two.

Find freedom in the recognition of beauty and all unspectacular things will become spectacular. (And photogenic).

Mexico Honeymoon

Well, I couldn't stand looking at those snowy pictures any more. Heres a few from my wife and I's honeymoon last March (almost a full year after our wedding - May 25th). These are three out of a couple of hundred that will eventually make their way onto this blog.

Just a simple seagull that looked like he was posing for me..

Here's a piece of the Mexican Navy (Yes, the Mexican Navy). Its a retired ship thats currently making a worldwide cruise.

This was taken on a 5 hour 'Sunset Cruise'. We were staying in 'Huatulco', which is on the Pacific coast side of Mexico. Its far enough down south that you had to take a cruise out a few hours to be able to see the sun set over the ocean.

'06 Blizzard

I was just looking through my pictures and came across these that I'd forgotten about. Here in Colorado, the '06 winter was particularly rough. My job requires me to drive 100 - 200 miles a day, mostly on dirt roads that do not get maintained by the county.

These were taken the night of the blizzard, just a couple of days after Christmas of '06.



And these were taken the morning after.

One of my favorite cloud shots - the sun was unbelievably bright even after filtering through.

Crazy Mailboxes... Part 2

Ok, so maybe my first 'Crazy Mailbox' wasn't so crazy - I just wanted to start off with a nice one. I was going to call this series "Unique Mailboxes" - but some of them, such as this one are more than simply unique.

Pawnee Buttes

Well, I labeled this as 'vacation', but really it was more of an afternoon getaway. I took these last weekend in far north eastern Colorado, in a place called the Pawnee Buttes.

I've upgrade cameras - click on these pictures and check them out full screen, they'd make great desktop backgrounds.

Crazy mailboxes... Part One.

I just realized that if you live in the city, you probably miss out on all the crazy mailboxes that some people create out in the country. I've decided to remedy that.

(Remember, in my disclaimer I mentioned that I am easily amused and that you may find that some things that amuse me do not amuse you. Tough cookies.)

Don't worry - this little guy isn't hurt. He took off running when I got close, and then realized he was probably doomed, so he hunkered down to avoid detection.

His mom was a few yards away -- and she was letting me know she was pretty upset with me.

I decided to dedicate a couple more horse pictures to Shakeyman's daughter.

What you don't see here is the grey horse trying to eat my bumper a few minutes previous.

Oilfield pictures

I guess I should try to take a few more actual oilfield pictures.. but in reality, its everything thats going on *around* the oilfield that I find so interesting.


Heres a drilling rig thats currently working for us..





Heres how they move these monsters. Thats right, two semi-trucks, one going each way. I'd hate to be the guy going backwards.




And here they are trying to fix the sign that they just wiped out while trying to negotiate a tight turn.

Nothing much to say here.. seems like theres always something interesting around most corners.
